About Us

The Art Forces Peacemaker Gallery

Born of a continued motivation to act upon the mission of

the Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural Project:

to make hidden histories visible

We exclusively feature artworks that speak to issues of social, economic and environmental justice within our local and global communities, and strive to create a welcoming space that is dedicated to the practice of connecting, healing and learning through art.

Located above the Brotherhood Lounge, in the historic Labor Temple building, downtown Olympia, Washington, home of the Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural Project.

About The Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural Project

Co-produced by Art Forces and the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace & Justice

Through art we aim to build relationships across movements, cultures and great distances, and to honor those who have lost their lives striving for liberation. We seek to strengthen and make more visible the efforts of many who dare to imagine a different world.

The project began in 2006 to honor the life and aspirations of  Rachel Corrie through action and organizing for a better world. Rachel was from Olympia and was murdered in Gaza in 2003 when she was run over by an  Israeli-driven bulldozer that was attempting to demolish the home of a Palestinian pharmacist.

Located at the corner of State and Capitol in Olympia WA, this 4,000 sq.ft. interdisciplinary mural moves from the local to the global and was made possible by the collective effort of more than 200 groups and individuals from around the world.
